Tea Party no friend to the worker

Though, there is undoubtedly a need for a grass roots movement in America it is not the Tea Party.  A grass roots movement is one that emanates from the streets of America for the improvement in the quality of life for the population not for corporate America.  The Tea Party claims they put this new wave of conservative politicians in office to eliminate the deficit and reduce the national debt.  Their first move was to continue a 900 billion dollar tax break for the top earners under the guise of job creation.   The tax cut had already been in force for ten years without any real results in employment.  Next, came a unanimous vote by the Republicans to stop the elimination of 44 billion dollars of subsidies for the big oil companies who have been making record profits since the early Bush years.  But the Tea Party cheers the prospect of attacking social security, Medicare and other so-called social programs.
The Tea Party has been referred to as an Astroturf (fake grass) movement that had been sponsored, promoted and funded by rightwing wealth and media to keep the focus on tax cuts for the wealthy. Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck and Fox news itself have promoted Tea Party rallies and protests.  In 2010 Fox news covered the Tea Party 59 times more than they covered the U.S. Social Forum while 15,000 people showed up for the U.S. Social Forum and only 600 people showed up for the Tea Party protest.  The Tea Party doesn’t care about the concessions made by the government workers in Wisconsin they just want the unions busted because that is what corporate America wants.  The last thing Americans need is another right wing group doing the bidding of the corporations that are abusing employees and gouging consumers.
The Tea Party has accepted funding from both Koch Brothers and Koch industries. Some of the national figures associated with the Tea Party Movement are Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Jim De mint, Michelle Bauchman and Dick Army.  None of these people are sympathetic to the needs of the people but can be considered tools of the elite ruling class.
I have predicted a short life for the Tea Party Movement.  It will not go away because of the right wing support but its popularity is already being diminished.  The upside of the movement and its fraudulent efforts are that it is serving to unite the middle class and strengthen the working class.  As a part of the working class you must make your feelings known because the Tea Party and the Republicans say they are talking for Americans and that there is a mandate behind their efforts.  They don’t represent my view and I hope they don’t represent yours when they protect corporate welfare and attempt to break the unions.  This not the grass roots movement that will make our quality of life improve.  Remember the massive U.S debt wasn’t created the working class.  Why should we pay it back with concessions in our quality of life.  All this massive debt was created by catering to the wants of banks and big business.  Some believe the wars are responsible for our huge debt but the profiteering channeled huge sums of money into the pockets private contractors who abused their contracts.  Have you heard the Tea Party take issue with lucrative no bid contracts?  No you haven't.
It is time for the working class to declare that THEY WILL NOT GIVE ANOTHER INCH UNTIL THE BANKS, WALL STREET AND BIG BUSINESS GIVES A MILE.

Quickie on Congress

Congress
Sen. Charles Schumer, a member of two finance-related committees, spent 16 million dollars in campaign donations in 2007 and 2008, and raised more than 13 million dollars. This was not an election year for Schumer, whose seat is safe until 2010. How he spent the money is unknown, because the Senate passed a law recently that exempts them from having to reveal how they spend their donation money.
Lawmakers who leave Congress are receiving pensions ranging from as little as $14,165 a year for six years’ service to as much as $114,102 a year for more than 30 years’ service.SF Gate
The retirement package includes automatic inflation adjustments and guaranteed access to post-retirement private medical insurance in addition to Medicare protection provided all Americans
congressman can retire with the same pay after serving only one term, or, more painfully and patently unfair, that Congress has exempted itself from all tenets of the Health Care Reform Act just as they’ve exempted themselves from prosecution for sexual
Congress concerns are valid but hypocritical. While wages stagnate and the “official” unemployment rate approaches 10%, Democrats and Republicans found one thing they could readily agree on: a pay raise. Last month the House and Senate voted themselves a $4,700 cost-of-living pay raise, increasing their annual salaries to $174,000. (House Speaker Pelosi and other House Democratic leaders will nobly forgo an increase next year; Senate Majority Leader Reid has said Senate Democratic leaders “plan to.”)

DEBTS and DEFICITS

Debts and Deficits

February 20th, 2011
Copied from my web page
Because of the situation in Wisconsin which is sure to cause a domino effect in other state such as Ohio and New Jersey, I am going to interject a short political writing between chapters one and two of previous post of “After  the  Cold Rush”. The protests in Wisconsin may represent coming  protests of the federal government’s effort to destroy Social Security and Medicare under the guise of repairing the deficit and national debt.  We need to learn the truth about who should pick up the tab for all the waste and corruption that caused these massive debts.
Deficits and public debts either state or federal were legislated by politicians and big businesses benefited, while tax payers paid the bills.   The working class and unions had nothing to do with the debt creation. The state and federal politicians have allowed government contracts to incur cost overruns and outlandish pricing of goods which reflected in waste, kickbacks and campaign contributions.  Now they want the working class to make monetary sacrifices to pay for political corruption, while they still continue the practice of wasting our taxes.  Next time you play the lottery notice how much paper is wasted.  The lottery is known by everyone in the state yet they spend millions on advertising.   This is done to enrich the businesses who print the paper rolls and the advertising media.  These are minor practices that are repeated everywhere government spends money.  The Iraq War was nothing more than an opportunity to steal tax dollars.  The military dropped millions of dollars worth of weaponry to destroy Iraqi buildings and infrastructure that did nothing to expedite the capture of Saddam or Bin Laden.  But what it did do was lead to billions of dollars for Halliburton in fraudulent contracts.
It’s not time to break the unions it is time to investigate the expenditure of OUR money.  Those of you who feel guilty and have a strange allegiance to corporations and phony political liars and crooks call the capital and pledge whatever money you want but don’t interfere with those who want to be treated fairly.  I will freely admit that unions have been corrupted and have lost sight of why they were created and we need to have a labor movement that both stops the corporate predation of the workforce and places the unions on notice that we want honest representation and an accurate accounting of workers dues.  The American public has to demand that white collar crime be punished on the same level, with the same longevity of sentencing and in the same prisons as street criminals.  And we must insist that Congress no longer be responsible for judging their own ethics violations and corruption.   If this strikes a chord with you please help circulate this message.

Egypt

All countries showing a concern for what is happening in Egypt regardless of which side they support is just just another self serving response to a  polital issue.  Humanitarianism from America only focuses on countries who have natural resources that American business has an interest in. China supresses and abuses its population but maintains a favored nation trade status with America. Totally business related.

I now have started a web page  http://www.afterthecoldrush.com/  come check it out. At the moment it is primarily a reposts of this site.

America still headed for collapse

Nothing has changed with the Wall St. bunch. They are still increasing CEO salries and giving out large bonuses.  N ow social security and medicare are being targeted.  They want to call these social programs. But what  is a trillion dollar bailout if not corporate welfare. Within the next ten months America will be faced with economic collapse and everyone down here on mainstreet is clueless.
